“ Excellent service and food. Can't say what we had as it was ordered for us, but I'd say near enough every dish on the menu was sent to our table over the evening. The meat, fish, sides etc was top notch! ”
“ I’m not saying it’s perfect but I can’t find a better souvlaki or souvla within 5 miles of Southgate . It’s authentic fresh clean food with the right ingredients not your flashy fusion take that does little to improve what essentials is Cypriot cooking at its best . I’m sure there must be better somewhere but I have yet to find it . If you want flashy fashionable food with little taste and substance don’t come here but if you want food which fills not only your belly but you’re roots if you’re Cypriot then this is the place . As for price it’s the same as anywhere else but at least I enjoyed my food . ”
“ I was surprised at how good this place was. Quite often I find Greek restaurants, even if they are good, can be a bit too expensive for what they provide. Not the case here. The food was excellent. Our group had meze (lots of small portions covering a wide range of Greek/Cypriot food rather like a Greek dim sum) and everything was delicious. One of our party was allergic to garlic so they brought us the relevant dishes in both normal and garlic-free versions, too. The atmosphere was great. Several birthdays in the house and every table joined in the singing. The service was ridiculously friendly and when the bill came I was surprised. It was under 48 a head, inclusive of the tip. Ok, only a couple of people had alcohol but we got through plenty of soft drinks and also took home a heavily loaded bag of uneaten food. There was way too much of it to finish. I would definitely recommend Tavernaki and will be going again as soon as I have the chance. ”
“ Great service, and great food. What else could you ask for. ”
“ If you want an authentic Greek experience with that home cooked food feeling don't hesitate to visit. There is parking around the back and if you visit in the evening or on weekend make sure you call ahead because they can get busy! ”
“ Nice manager and quick service. Food is very consistent which is important and I've never had a bad meal. Been here 20 plus times and it's always delivered. ”
“ Went there for early dinner, we order the mezze for 2, all the food I believe were homemade, it's so fresh and bags of flavour. There are great portion and I really enjoyed it. ”
“ Afternoon visit. Had octopus, liver, and usual starters, followed by lamb souvla, absolutely lovely. Served by Fonzi, who kept 8 slightly drunk blokes, in check with his good service and humour. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back. Paul ”
